INDIANAPOLIS (March 6, 2025) – Indiana’s home building industry is maintaining positive momentum into 2025, with single-family building permits on the rise.

The Indiana Builders Association (IBA) reports that 1,353 single-family permits were issued statewide in January 2025. This is a 7% increase from the 1,269 permits pulled in January 2024. Additionally, this figure represents an 11% increase from December 2024, when 1,216 permits were issued.

“The steady increase in permits is a strong indicator of Indiana’s healthy housing market,” said Ryan Baker, IBA President. “With demand for new construction remaining high, we’re optimistic about continued growth in 2025.”
